Researchers at the University of Washington have developed a way to implant semitransparent red and blue LED lights in contact lenses for the sole purpose of receiving and displaying data in sharp visual images and video. This will allow users to watch television, view photos or videos projected directly into their eyeballs.
Scientist are reporting that the possibilities are endless and comparing what one does with a smart phone may soon be possible within ones eyeball. Babak Parvis the lead researcher says, "You won't necessarily have to shift your focus to see the image generated by the contact lens." images would appear in front of you and your view of the world will be unobstructed when the display in turned off.
