Starbucks is an international trademark for caffeine and related products. Unfortunately, I've never had the pleasure of enjoying a caramel frappucino within the Starbucks store because the cashiers and people working there have been unfriendly. At least in the parts of North Carolina that I've visited. I also know that a drink's taste is supposed to vary depending on who has made it but it should still maintain the same general flavor; and there have been some baristas who have completely ignored what I wanted in my drink to substitute what they thought would work better. All in all, very disrespectful.
I used to be a barista at a Caribou Coffee and it was always our enforced policy to make someone's day a little better by becoming genuinely interested in the people that came in every day; not serve them something sloppy and ignore them. I've noticed that some Starbucks around NC have hired burnt out teenagers or boomerang adults who really couldn't care less about the quality of their service; which baffles me because as a former barista, the nicer I was, the better tip I received. Plus I really got to know and befriend some of our customers which broke the barrier of the server/customer relationship.
I don't expect a friendship with any of the people who work at Starbucks but I would appreciate a little respect. I make it a point never to go anywhere mad and never to take it out on someone who I don't know; particularly someone who is doing their jobs; but as a customer, I do have expectations of how my order should be handled and there's only so many times a mistake can be made before it isn't a mistake anymore.
