The FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center has reported that Chinese hackers have successfully defrauded U.S. businesses out of $20 million. The FBI is working with Sony officials to investigate this huge hacking trend that has occurred via Sony PlayStation games. Sony finally acknowledges that over 77 million players of PlayStation have been indeed compromised.
Official at Sony admit that e-email addresses, passwords, security questions and login information have been stolen by hackers. They are still slow to disclose what extent credit-card information has been compromised. My suggestion…If you have a credit card on file with Sony PlayStation, cancel the credit card and set up a password of some type with your creditor to protect your account.
The number of hacking incidents ace increased in the country from 2,172 in 2006 to 5,499 in 2008. I fear these numbers will continue to increase since 1/3 of our cyber investigative squads are lacking adequate knowledge to deal with these crimes.
