A grainy black-and-white video has surfaced showing notorious Florida mom Casey Anthony speaking out in the first of what she promises to be a series of "video diaries."

Looking nearly unrecognizable in a blond bob, thick black glasses and white tank top, Anthony spends most of the four-minute clip rambling about her new computer, phone and recently adopted dog, but never mentions her daughter, Caylee, whom she was acquitted of slaying.

But the madeover mother does allude to beating the rap for the 2-year-old tot's death.

"It's just a little surreal how much things have changed since July, and how many things haven't changed," the 25-year-old muses.

"But the good thing is that things are starting to look up and things are starting to change in a good way. I just hope that things stay good and that they only get better."

Even after months of living in the media spotlight and through a televised trial, Anthony says she's not totally comfortable being on camera.

"I don't know whether to look directly at myself or look up," she giggles.

"It's a little scary, because I hate being on camera. But I need to conquer that fear at some point, and this is a good start," she says.

In the clip's opening, Anthony says that she's recording on Oct. 13. She never mentions where she is but says that she'll be "here next year ... even if I get off probation early, I'll still be here until at least February."

NBC News said it confirmed that the video was of Anthony.

At the end of the clip, Anthony asks viewers to stay tuned for more solo web chats.

"Maybe I'll bring the dog. Who knows?" she says.
